So, the starts in Northern Portugal, close to the Porto and will end on the South side of Lisbon. So, during the tour, you can visit the Douro Valley, Évora and the Arrábida Natural Park.

As the tour begins in the port and ends in Lisbon, in these two cities you can choose to explore the city on your own or ask for a tour in these cities that I will be to do.

TOUR PROGRAM

Day 1 – From Porto to the Douro Valley
Meet you or the group at the hotel lobby and drive to Porto Antigo, in the Douro Valley, where we will have a short walk to stretch or legs followed by a light lunch in a typical local restaurant.
After lunch a nice walk will take you through very beautiful cobble stone roads in between stone walls still used today by local farmers to move the cattle. The trail crosses the river Bestança, a tributary of the river Douro and one of the cleanest rivers in the country.
At the end of the afternoon we will go to Pinhão, where we will be lodged for the next two nights.
Included meals: Breakfast at the hotel, light lunch at a local restaurant and dinner at a local restaurant
Overnight: Pinhão

Day 2 – Pinhão, in the heart of the Douro Valley
After breakfast it will be time to start walking from the hotel trough vineyards and get to know the true Douro Valley and the locals in their daily business.
A light lunch will be served aboard of a Rabelo boat during a two hours ride along the calm waters of the river Douro. Some views of the Douro Valley are only possible from a boat and you will not miss this opportunity.
During the afternoon an ancient wine cellar visit and Port wine tasting will complement the day.
For sure you will have some free time left to relax before dinner.
Included meals: Breakfast at the hotel, light lunch served aboard and dinner at a local restaurant
Overnight: Pinhão

Day 3 – Transfer day from Pinhão to Setúbal and visiting Fátima
We will be moving from the Douro Valley to a Setúbal, a city located in a region south of Lisbon next to the Arrábida Natural Park. It will be a four hours drive and we will divide the ride in two parts to be able to visit Fátima.
During our transfer we will have the possibility to visit Fátima, a religious site that receives many thousands of people during the year. In private tours you can select a different location to visit.
At the middle of the afternoon we will be arriving at Setúbal with some time to walk in the city and then to the hotel, located in the upper part of the city with an impressive view over the  city, the sea and the mountain.
Setúbal was quite important during the roman occupation and today is a lovely small fishing city and the perfect location to access both the Arrábida Natural Park and Évora.
Included meals: Breakfast at the hotel, light lunch in a local restaurant and dinner in the hotel.

Day 4 – The Arrábida Natural Park
In Portugal we hope for the day that the Arrábida Natural Park will be classified by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The respective file was submitted not too long ago and there are high expectations on this.
The contrast between the sea and the mountain and the contrast of the rural and the urban environments will be the dominant scenarios of the day.
Lunch will much depend of the weather. If we get a nice sunny day it will be perfect to picnic at a spot with an impressive view, otherwise a local restaurant will provide a light sampling lunch.
The local cheese and wine are excellent and tasting them will be the perfect way to finish the daily activities.
Included meals: Breakfast at the hotel, light lunch in a local restaurant and dinner in the hotel.
Overnight: Setúbal

Day 5 – Évora - prehistoric, roman and medieval heritages
One hour from our hotel and we will be in a totally different setting, Évora.
The historic centre of Évora is a World Heritage Site classified by UNESCO and Évora is a city with strong historical heritage. This heritage is so diverse that we will have to split the visit in two parts.
During the morning we will have an urban walk and we will be able to learn about the roman and medieval heritages.
After lunch will be the moment to travel back in time to pre-historic times and visit a megalithic site 2000 years older than Stonehenge.
We will return to the hotel with time enough to rest before our farewell dinner.
Included meals: Breakfast at the hotel, light lunch in a local restaurant and dinner in the hotel.
Overnight: Setúbal
